NMM Member Speaks at Meadowlands Seminar Held By
Association of Trial Lawyers of America – New Jersey

Somerville, NJ (September 22, 2008) – Michael J. Stanton, a member of the Somerville law firm Norris McLaughlin & Marcus, P.A., will be participating in the E-Privacy, E-Discovery & E-Evidence Mock Trial Meadowlands Seminar of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America – New Jersey. The seminar will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2008 at the Sheraton Meadowlands in East Rutherford, New Jersey. The program will include a mock office meeting with plaintiff and counsel, direct and cross examination of plaintiff, direct and cross examination of forensic computer expert, summation and decision.

Founded in the late 1940s and incorporated in 1976, the Association of Trial Lawyers of America – New Jersey (ATLA-NJ) is headquartered in Trenton, New Jersey. ATLA-NJ is a statewide association of nearly 2,300 members in private practice and public service, paralegals, law clerks, law students and law school graduates not yet admitted to the bar. ATLA-NJ is dedicated to protecting New Jersey’s families by working to preserve and strengthen the laws for safer products and workplaces, a cleaner environment and quality health care. Stanton devotes his practice exclusively to matrimonial and family law. Certified by the Supreme Court of New Jersey as a Matrimonial Law Attorney, Stanton has experience in all aspects of matrimonial and family law including divorce litigation, arbitration and mediation, custody and parenting rights, alimony, child support, equitable distribution of assets including complex valuation issues, pre-nuptial agreements, domestic violence and palimony.

Stanton is a Section/Committee Trustee of the New Jersey State Bar Association (NJSBA) and has been a member since 1979. He served as Chair of the NJSBA Family Law Section and has been a member of the Executive Committee of the Family Law Section for more than ten years. He also serves on the NJSBA Military Law and Veterans’ Affairs Committee and Long-Term Planning Committee. Stanton is a member of the prestigious Matrimonial Lawyers Alliance, the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, and the Central Jersey Family Law Inns of Court. He belongs to both the Somerset County and American Bar Associations. Stanton has also served as Chair of the Fee Arbitration Committee and as a member of the District XIII Ethics Committee. He is listed in the Family Law section of the current edition of The Best Lawyers In America.

Stanton is a 1979 graduate of New York Law School and a 1976 graduate of Rutgers University. He lectures for numerous family law programs and has authored frequent articles for the Institute for Continuing Legal Education, the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, and various other organizations.
