Deanna L. Koestel, a senior associate with the firm, is a commercial litigator who specializes in complex civil matters, construction disputes and products liability defense cases. Deanna is experienced in all aspects of commercial litigation, including sophisticated fact and expert discovery, motion practice, argument and trial.
Deanna has considerable experience in construction litigation matters. Most recently, Deanna had a prominent role in a complex construction dispute with multiple parties, winning a substantial jury award in favor of her client after a four-week trial. She routinely represents property owners, contractors and subcontractors, suppliers, and manufacturers in various construction contract issues, including breach of contract, warranty actions, building supply defects, and professional liability. Additionally, Deanna has considerable experience in handling construction lien issues on behalf of owners and contractors alike.
Deanna also has considerable experience in a variety of general commercial disputes, including breach of contract, professional negligence, intellectual property and products liability litigation. She has successfully handled several large insurance litigation matters involving fraud, misrepresentation, bad faith and the interpretation of insurance policies in both federal and state court.
Deanna has been selected for inclusion in the Business Litigation section of New Jersey Rising Stars for 2010, her third consecutive selection.
