Bridgewater, NJ (April 13, 2010) – Michael J. Stanton, a Member of the Bridgewater-based law firm of Norris McLaughlin & Marcus, P.A., was selected by the Family Law Section of the New Jersey State Bar Association (NJSBA) to receive the 2010 Saul A. Tischler Award in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the practice of family law. Stanton will receive this prestigious lifetime achievement award at the NJSBA Family Law Section Annual Dinner on April 26, 2010, at Dolce in Basking Ridge.

Each year an honored member of the matrimonial bar is selected by the Tischler Award Committee of the Executive Committee of the Family Law Section. The Committee considers various standards in regard to a potential recipient including his or her public service in advancing the development of family law; contributions to the family law by publishing articles; participating in seminars and service on committees; promoting and advancing the goals of the legal profession, including service and contributions to the Family Law Section of the New Jersey State Bar Association; membership on committees appointed by the Supreme Court of New Jersey or other committees, which address family law issues; participation on Early Settlement Panels and participation in other complementary dispute resolution alternatives; membership and participation in groups that advance family law and the positive image of matrimonial lawyers; and his or her active participation in family law activities on county and local bar association levels.
