The Somerset County Domestic Violence Working Group assists in the design of a county implementation and monitoring strategy of the Prevention of Domestic Violence Act and of the Domestic Violence Procedures Manual. The Group also provides, on an ongoing basis, a forum for the identification and resolution of problems in the domestic violence prevention and protection process in the county. The Group works closely with the Supreme Court’s State Domestic Violence Working Group and with the Governor’s Advisory Council on Domestic Violence. In addition to representatives from the County Bar Association’s Family Law Section, representatives to the County Working Group also include Presiding Judge - Family Part, County Prosecutor, Municipal Court Judges, Family Division Manager, Criminal Division Liaison, Municipal Court Liaison, Family Division Team Leader, Assistant Prosecutor, County Victim-Witness Coordinator, local domestic violence program, Division of Youth and Family Services, President of the Municipal Prosecutor’s Association, County Police Chiefs’ Association, and other appropriate service providers.

A resident of Watchung, Lawrence devotes her practice to matrimonial, divorce and family law. Certified by the Supreme Court of New Jersey as a Matrimonial Law Attorney and a Family/Divorce Mediator, she has worked with clients whose needs lie in all areas of matrimonial and family law, including divorce litigation and mediation, custody and parenting time issues, alimony and child support, separation and property settlement agreements, adoption and guardianship advice, domestic partnership matters under the Domestic Partnership Act, domestic violence and sexual abuse, and palimony. She takes great pride and care in helping her clients make it through these difficult personal matters.

To complement the breadth of her matrimonial, divorce and family law practice, Lawrence involves herself in various professional engagements outside the firm. She frequently serves as a speaker and panelist at divorce and family law programs and seminars, and she has been admitted to the rosters of Mediators for Economic Aspects of Family Law Cases and of Custody and Parenting Time Cases for Somerset County. She spends her spare time as an attorney volunteer at the Resource Center for Women and Their Families in Somerset County. Lawrence is Trustee of the Somerset County Bar Foundation and Co-Chair of the Somerset County Mock Trial Committee. She is also a member of the NMM Women’s Forum Steering Committee, as well as Co-Chair of its Marketing Subcommittee.

Lawrence has been selected by her peers as one of New Jersey’s Top Ten matrimonial lawyers under the age of 40. She has also been recognized by the New Jersey Law Journal as one of 40 accomplished and promising attorneys in the State of New Jersey under the age of 40. For several years, she has been listed among New Jersey’s Super Lawyers, which rates her among the top 5 percent of New Jersey lawyers. In 2007, she received the Young Lawyers Division’s Professional Achievement Award and the Annual Legislative Recognition Award from the New Jersey State Bar Association.
