Danielle M. DeFilippis, an associate with the firm, focuses her practice on complex commercial and intellectual property litigation. Danielle has appeared on behalf of corporate clients in all phases of litigation in federal and state courts, as well as in settlement negotiations and alternative resolution forums.
Danielle has represented clients in cases involving trademark and copyright infringement, business torts, deceptive trade practices, Lanham Act claims and state and federal unfair competition laws. Recent successes include obtaining summary judgment dismissing all claims against a client including claims for copyright infringement, theft of trade secrets and breach of contract. See Alpha Media Works, Inc. v. Perception Research Services, Inc., 2012 WL 406914, 4 (S.D.N.Y. 2012.)
Her commercial experience includes claims involving breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, fraud and other business disputes, corporate governance and derivative actions. Danielle has also acted as coverage counsel analyzing claims under commercial general business liability, excess/umbrella, and professional liability policies.
While in law school, Danielle was Editor and Director of Staffing & Symposia for the Legislative Journal. She also completed a judicial internship with the Honorable Ronald J. Hedges, District Court of New Jersey. After law school, Danielle served as a judicial clerk with the Honorable Stephen J. Bernstein, Superior Court of New Jersey, Essex County.
Danielle is a member of the Newark Reentry Legal Services (ReLeSe), a legal services program of the Volunteer Lawyers for Justice.
