Norris McLaughlin & Marcus, P.A., based in Bridgewater, New Jersey, is pleased to welcome new members David L. Adelson, David N. Vozza, and Svetlana (Lana) Ros to its Healthcare Law Practice Group. They join Norris McLaughlin from Kern Augustine, P.C., a law firm focused on representing health professionals.

Adelson, with over 30 years of litigation and healthcare law experience, represents a wide array of healthcare professionals and medical practices. His practice includes health law litigation and administrative legal matters in New York and New Jersey, concentrated in the fields of professional discipline, hearings and appeals related to professional misconduct, private and public insurance audits, fraud and abuse, audit refund requests (private, Medicaid and Medicare), HIPAA, employment matters, and IPRO inquiries. Adelson has successfully defended physicians in investigations before medical boards including OPMC, SBME and OPD, as well as in private health insurance billing audits, civil Medicare/Medicaid audit/fraud claims, physician privileges, insurance fraud and abuse, RAC audits, OIG matters, and MACRA and MIPS. He has lectured at numerous hospitals and before healthcare-related legal and medical organizations on health law issues including over-prescribing of medications, inappropriate conduct of practitioners, general licensure, healthcare-related cyber security issues, fraud and abuse, medical records, confidentiality of protected health information, employment contract challenges, and administrative law proceedings. He has litigated healthcare matters and defended sizable audits against some of the largest national healthcare insurance providers. He is a member of the Health and Hospital Law Section of the New Jersey State Bar Association and the Health Law Section of the New York State Bar Association. Adelson earned his B.A. in Rhetoric and Communication from SUNY Albany, his J.D. from St. John’s University School of Law, and his Master’s Degree in Homeland Security from Long Island University.
Vozza devotes his practice to the areas of healthcare and litigation. His practice focuses on defending health care professionals in connection with disciplinary and regulatory actions before federal and state agencies, private and government payor audits, civil and criminal fraud investigations, hospital and privileges disputes, and general healthcare litigation in both federal and state courts. Vozza regularly defends health care professionals before the Office of Professional Medical Conduct and the Office of Professional Discipline. He frequently lectures at hospitals throughout New York State regarding medical fraud, regulatory agencies, professional licensure, and medical documentation. Vozza is admitted to practice in New York and in the United States District Courts for both the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, and is a member of the Health Law Section of the New York State Bar Association. He earned his J.D. from Hofstra University School of Law, J.D., and his B.A. at the State University of New York, Stony Brook.
Ros focuses her practice in the area of healthcare law, including civil and administrative litigation, professional licensure defense, hospital medical staff matters, hospital disciplinary actions, regulatory compliance, managed care and government audits, and refund demands and investigations. She also handles transactional and regulatory matters affecting healthcare providers, and has successfully defended physicians before medical boards, OPMC, SBME, and in OPD investigations, as well as Medicare fraud, fraud and abuse, RAC audits, Medicare audits, OIG fraud, health care fraud, medical audits, and health plan billing audits. Ros frequently lectures at hospitals throughout New Jersey and New York regarding legal issues effecting healthcare professionals. Prior to entering private practice, she clerked for the Honorable Stuart A. Minkowitz. Ros is admitted to practice in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, and the United States District Court of New Jersey, as well as, the United States District Courts of the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York. She is a member of the Health and Hospital Section of the New Jersey State Bar Association and a member of the New York State Bar Association. Ros earned her J.D. from Seton Hall University School of Law and her B.S. in biotechnology and nutrition from Rutgers University.
